The paper explores the legal frameworks that are integral to the successful implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs are a collection of 17 global goals set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, aiming to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. This study provides an in-depth analysis of the various legal instruments, treaties, and policies that have been developed to support the achievement of these goals. It examines the challenges faced by states in adhering to these frameworks, including the complexities of cross-border cooperation, resource allocation, and the need for innovative legal solutions. The paper further discusses the role of international law, national legislation, and regional agreements in shaping the legal landscape for sustainable development. It concludes with a proposal for a multi-faceted approach that combines legal reforms, capacity building, and international cooperation to enhance the effectiveness of legal frameworks in advancing the SDGs.
