Abstract

This paper explores the multifaceted legal aspects surrounding digital copyright and fair use. With the advent of the digital age, traditional copyright laws have faced unprecedented challenges in adapting to the rapid advancements in technology and the globalization of information. The core of the discussion centers on the tension between protecting the rights of creators and fostering an environment conducive to innovation and free expression. This study delves into the complexities of copyright infringement in the digital domain, the implications of digital rights management (DRM) technologies, and the legal frameworks that govern fair use. It critically analyzes case law and legislative developments that have shaped the landscape of digital copyright, emphasizing the importance of balancing the interests of copyright holders with the public interest. The paper further examines the role of international treaties in harmonizing copyright laws across borders and the implications of these agreements on domestic policies. Ultimately, the study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the evolving legal landscape in digital copyright and fair use, highlighting the need for a dynamic legal approach that can effectively address the challenges posed by the digital age.
