This paper explores the intricate relationship between environmental justice and legal frameworks, providing a comprehensive analysis from a multidisciplinary perspective. It examines how environmental justice issues are addressed within the bounds of international, national, and local laws, highlighting the challenges and opportunities presented by the intersection of environmental and legal concerns. The analysis delves into the legal principles that underpin environmental justice, including the right to a healthy environment, the polluter pays principle, and the principle of intergenerational equity. The paper further discusses the effectiveness of existing legal instruments in protecting vulnerable populations from environmental harm, and assesses the role of the judiciary in enforcing environmental justice. Additionally, it considers the implications of emerging technologies and climate change for environmental justice litigation and policy-making. The study concludes by suggesting avenues for reform and strengthening the legal framework to ensure equitable environmental outcomes for all.
